Land and property are two very expensive things, which is why most people will only buy one property to live in. However there are plenty of other reasons for buying property if you have some spare money.

Some people for example will purchase a holiday home which although they don’t live in, they will use when visiting a foreign country.
Investment Property
Another reason for  buying property is as a form of investment. Property prices fluctuate every day, which can make it possible to buy a property at a low price and then sell at a high price. However this is quite a risky move because you can also stand to lose money. Also when the property is empty you are earning nothing.
Most people will purchase a property and then try to rent it out. This is a great way to get an extra income and should make your money perform well. However it is important to ensure that the payments that you receive for rent are at least enough to meet the mortgage payments to your bank.
Talk to your buyer’s agent in Melbourne to find suitable investment properties. Certain areas will be easier to rent in, including near colleges and universities.
Commercial Properties
There are also plenty of other uses for property rather than just residential; commercial property is used for offices and shops. It might also be possible to buy commercial property either to use for your own business, or to rent out to different people. Commercial property is often sold by the same estate agents as residential property, however there are also separate commercial estate agents located in Australia.
